Troubleshooting

If problems arise in the Registrar year, naturally your trainer should be the first person from whom to seek advice.

However, if this for any reason proves difficult then your Course Organisers or Associate Director (Robin While) will be available for help.  Any discussion will be treated as confidential.

Usually Robin While will interview you at about 3 months into the training year for a general assessment of how your post is progressing. This can be a useful time to discuss any problems.

Vocational Training Regulations

As future GPs you need to comply with statutory GP Vocational Training requirements. This means that you need to get a Certificate of Satisfactory Completion for each post, signed by your consultant/GP Trainer.

In order to get accreditation under the Vocational Training Regulations you must have acquired

  • VTR/2 form (satisfactory completion of time spent in hospital posts accredited for GP training) to the value of 24 months and

  • VTR/1 form (satisfactory completion of time as a trainee in General Practice) to the value of 12 months.

If you haven't collected your VTR/2 forms yet you are strongly advised to do so!

You can download these forms (in MS Word format) here:
